Support

We're a small independent studio — one person building focused apps, one job each. This page explains who we are, what to expect from each app, the questions we get most, and exactly how to reach us. No account required to read any of it.

About Aztec Purple

Aztec Purple builds small, private-by-design iOS apps — each one does a single job and does it properly, rather than one large app trying to do everything. We also take on a small number of bespoke website and app projects for individuals and small businesses — see Pricing for the full breakdown.

Every app we ship follows the same rules: your data lives on your device by default, encrypted where it's stored locally; there are no ads and no advertising trackers; and any sensitive permission (camera, notifications, and so on) is explained in our own words before the system ever asks you for it. Full detail on exactly what each app stores and why: Privacy Policy.

Our apps

All five apps below are built and in active testing. None are live on the App Store yet — we'd rather ship something genuinely finished a little later than something half-done on time. This section will update as each one goes live.

Each app is described in more depth on The Apps. Once an app has its own in-app "Send feedback" flow, using that is usually the fastest way to reach us about that specific app — it reaches the same inbox as the address below, with useful context attached automatically.

Common questions

Why isn't the app I want available on the App Store yet?

Because it genuinely isn't finished to our own bar yet. We'd rather tell you that plainly than list a release date we're not confident in. If you want to know when a specific app lands, email us (below) and ask — we're happy to give you an honest "roughly this month" answer even when we won't commit to an exact date publicly.

What happens to the data I enter into an app?

In the current version of every app we ship, your data — names, dates, photos, notes, whatever the app asks you to enter — stays stored locally on your device, encrypted at rest. We do not operate an account server that receives a copy of it, so we genuinely cannot see it, sell it, or hand it to a third party, because we don't have it. If that ever changes for a future feature (for example an optional backup or sync), it will be off by default and require a clear, separate opt-in — never silently switched on. Full detail: Privacy Policy.

A notification / reminder isn't firing. What do I check?

This is the most common support question we get, and it's almost always one of three things, in order of likelihood:

  1. The reminder toggle inside the app itself is switched off — open the relevant settings screen (usually called Profile or Settings) and confirm it's on.
  2. iOS notifications are disabled for the app at the system level — check Settings → Notifications → [app name] on your phone and make sure "Allow Notifications" is on.
  3. Focus or Do Not Disturb is filtering it — if you have a Focus mode active, check whether it's allowing notifications from the app in question.

We always show our own explanation of why we're asking for notification permission before the system prompt appears, so if you denied it at that point, the fix is the Settings path above — the app can't re-ask automatically once you've said no at the OS level.

I want to delete everything an app has stored about me. How?

Every app has a "Delete all my data" (or equivalently named) option inside its own settings, which permanently erases what that app has stored on your device. Uninstalling the app entirely does the same thing, since nothing is stored anywhere else. Neither of us can restore it afterwards from a server copy, because there isn't one.

I found a bug, or I have an idea for a feature. What's the best way to tell you?

Email us (below) with as much detail as you can — what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and if it's a bug, roughly what you were doing right before it occurred. Screenshots help enormously. Every message is read by the person who actually builds these apps, not a support queue, so specific, concrete reports get fixed faster than general ones.

Are these apps free? Will they always be?

Every app is currently free to use. Some may introduce optional paid features later as they grow (for example a more advanced tier), but anything you've already built or recorded using the free version is intended to keep working — we're not going to lock your own data behind a paywall retroactively. Pricing, if and when it's introduced, will always be shown clearly before you pay anything.

Do the bespoke website/app projects come with support after launch?

Yes — every bespoke project (see Pricing) includes 30 days of free fixes after handover, covering anything that doesn't work the way we agreed it would. After that window, ongoing changes or new features are quoted separately, the same fixed-price-up-front way the original project was. There's never hourly billing sprung on you.

Contact

Email only: info@arcanelabel.co.uk

We deliberately don't offer phone support — a small studio answering calls all day is a small studio that isn't building anything. Email lets us give you a considered, correct answer instead of a rushed one.

We read and reply on working days, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 (UK time). Most messages get a reply within two working days; if something is urgent (for example a security concern), say so in the subject line and we'll prioritise it.

When you write in, it helps to include: which app (or which bespoke project) you mean, your device's iOS version if it's a technical issue, and, for a bug, the steps that led to it. You don't need to include any personal data beyond what's naturally in your message — we won't ask for more than we need to help you.

Legal & privacy

Terms & Conditions covers the rules of using our apps and of any bespoke project engagement. Privacy Policy covers exactly what data each app handles and how. Both are written in plain English on purpose, not just legal boilerplate.
